VIDEO NOTES

This page is dedicated to correcting, clarifying, or elaborating on the Gunplumber's Guide to Home Gunsmithing series. Although I make every effort to insure the accuracy and reliability of the information contained in the videos and workbooks, occasionally I learn of an error, omission, unclear point, outdated information, or simply a better way to do something. If you discover any errors or omissions, please send an e-mail and I will add it to this page.

Heckler & Koch Home Gunsmithing Part 1 and 2.

HK USC and HK SL8. I erroneously assumed the thin steel insert in the plastic trigger housing that serves to retain the axis pins was on both sides. It is only on the left side, therefore pins should be removed from left to right, and reinstalled from right to left.

FAL & L1A1 Home Gunsmithing.

The 1994 Brady Bill / Assault Weapons Ban sunsetted after 10 years in September of 2004. The Federal prohibition against flash hiders, barrels threaded to accept flash hiders, bayonet mounts, folding stocks, and grenade launchers is no longer in effect. Some states however, established their own laws similar to the Federal law, which have not expired. Please check your own laws (BATFE Publication 5300.5 State Laws and Published Ordnances - Firearms) for clarification.
