ARS ORDERING PAGE

(updated 03-23-08)

Our goal is to make the process of shipping and receiving your order as simple and painless as possible. Please read this page carefully.

Arizona Response Systems is a mail-order company. We do not have a showroom. We are available to local customers for drop-off and pickup by appointment only. The best way to contact us is by e-mail. You will usually receive a response the same day. The best time to call is between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM Arizona time, Monday through Friday. Arizona does not participate in daylight savings. There is no secretary. Your call will be answered by a gunsmith competent to answer your questions. We will be happy to discuss any aspect of your project, but please keep your calls short and to the point. Many times if we are involved in a critical task, we will not stop to answer the phone. Please leave a message with a clear return phone number. Most calls will be returned in a few hours. E-mail is still the best way to contact us, and has the added benefit of a printed record of the discussion to assist both parties.

Fill out this work order on line, then print.

You are welcome to write out your own work order, but please include all of the information in the examples above. If your order refers to an e-mail, please restate the pertinent facts or enclose a copy of the e-mail. E-mail quotes are good for 90 days.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

You may pay for your order in advance by cash, personal check, money order, bank check, or Credit Card. We accept Visa and Mastercard. Please make checks payable to T. Mark Graham or Arizona Response Systems. We deposit checks and money orders on receipt. There is a $25 charge for returned checks. We will not redeposit a returned check. We will void it, and then only accept credit card or certified funds. We do not ship COD. Government agencies may pay by purchase order with payment due within 30 days. Credit Cards are billed when your order is ready to ship. If you expect to need additional parts that cannot be quoted accurately in advance, please provide a credit card number to avoid delays in returning your order to you. Arizona residents add 8.1% sales tax on merchandise purchases.

SHIPPING OPTIONS

We can only ship firearms by contract carrier to a street address - no POBs. We ship all items with "Adult Signature Required. No Driver Release."

FEDERAL EXPRESS. FedEx is our preferred shipper for returning packages - FedEx Ground for long guns and FedEx Air for handguns. If you include an e-mail address, we will send a copy of the shipping manifest when possible. You may ship firearms directly to us and receive them directly back. You do not need to ship from a dealer.

You can track FedEx shipments at http://www.fedex.com.

UPS. UPS's company policy allows handgun shipment by Next Day Air only. Long Guns may be shipped by UPS Ground. As we are a licensed manufacturer you may ship long guns or handguns directly to us via UPS. You do not need to go through a dealer.

You can track your UPS package at http://www.ups.com .

US POSTAL SERVICE. You may ship long guns to us via US Postal Service. USPS does not allow handguns or short-barreled rifles to be shipped unless both the shipper and the recipient are Federal Firearm License holders. Shipping FFL to FFL you must use the Handgun Affirmation USPS Form 1508 or USPS Form 1508 (.pdf ). ARS cannot ship by USPS unless the item will fit in a USPS Priority mail Flat Rate Box and insured for no more than $500.

You can track your USPS package at http://www.usps.com.

INSURANCE & LIABILITY

We pay return insurance for up to $700 on handguns and up to $1000 on rifles. If you wish to purchase additional return insurance, please specify the desired insurance value with your order at $0.75 per $100 additional insurance. We purchase this insurance from the carrier (UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc) on your behalf and it is not a guarantee on our part that the shipper will pay on a claim.

All firearms are shipped at your own risk. This means that we are not liable for the loss or damage of your firearm in transit or through circumstances outside of our control. Some examples include fires, floods, thefts, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, riots, and stampedes. This statement is a simple realization that despite our best efforts and long experience in common-sense procedures and practices, there is always a miniscule chance of something happening to your property. We cannot assume liability or guarantee compensation. This disclaimer does not apply to circumstances such as "I dropped your gun and ran it over with my tractor," or "my dog ate your rifle stock " for which we will repair or replace as appropriate.

HOW TO PACK YOUR ORDER

This is a packing suggestion based on 20 years experience shipping guns. It is not a requirement. Package items well, with plenty of padding. Pay particular attention to protrusions like rifle muzzles, sights and cocking handles. While you should pack your order well, remember that firearms are designed to be robust. There is no point in disassembling your gun and wrapping each piece separately in bubble wrap and duct tape. The configuration in which a firearm is most durable is fully assembled. It is not fun to spend one and a half hours unwrapping and logging 50 individually wrapped parts. This makes Christmas morning a horrible flash-back instead of a pleasant experience. A single layer of large bubble wrap or a double layer of small bubble wrap or sheet foam is just fine. Then fold a piece of cardboard over any protrusions. Place in box with styrofoam peanuts or crumpled newspaper. Alternatively, place in a tightly fitting box with minimal padding, then pack that box inside a larger box with styrofoam peanuts. For comparison, most manufacturers ship their products in a plastic bag inside a cardboard box that prevents substantial movement, but with little if any additional padding. Rifle packing example. Please do not send rifle cases or large handgun cases. With 50+ rifles here at any given time, we have no place to store the cases and it adds to dimensional weightreturn shipping charges (where a large, lightweight package is billed based on size, not weight.) Prices that include shipping are based on a 4 pound handgund or 20 pound rifle, including packaging, in a standard size box. Heavier orders will incur additional shipping charges.

NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT

BATFE has clarified that there is no requirement for ATF Form 5 on NFA items sent for repair or restoration, as BATFE does not consider repair and return to be a "transfer" as defined and regulated by the National Firearms Act. BATFE letter on NFA Items and Form 5. If you wish to process your order on a form 5, there will be a $100 charge for the additional paperwork.

RECEIPT CONFIRMATION

Arizona Response Systems is able to offer you competitive pricing with quality work because we maintain low overhead. There is no secretary. We are happy to discuss your projects in whatever detail is necessary to satisfy you. That is a normal, expected cost of doing business. The "UPS said that you signed for my package at 10:34 this morning - did you get it?" phone calls must stop.

Do not call for delivery confirmation. Would you want the master gunsmith working on YOUR gun to break his concentration every 5 minutes to handle some other task? We have established limited phone hours and prefer to correspond by e-mail. If you do not trust your shipper's delivery confirmation, send us an e-mail and we will confirm the next business day.

TURNAROUND TIME

Accurately quoting a turnaround time is extremely difficult. There are many factors outside our control. We cannot control the delivery time of parts suppliers, we cannot control the fluctuation in volume of orders coming in, and we cannot control the "problem gun" that takes longer than it should and causes a delay in subsequent orders. The best we can do is to quote a delivery time based on when the orders currently shipping arrived, with a few weeks added or subtracted based on volume. We have a Status Check page to keep customers informed of their approximate position in line and our "best guess" turnaround time. We will process guns as quickly as possible - without compromising the premium quality you expect from ARS.

GUARANTEE

We guarantee all labor to the original owner for one year. Manufacturer's warranty applies to parts. Our finishes are guaranteed to the original owner against chipping, peeling, flaking, or anything that we evaluate as "not right" for one year. We may, at our sole discretion, extend that guarantee indefinitely. We cannot guarantee against abuse, neglect, or honest wear. If you have a problem with any ARS work, even after the "official" warranty period, please contact us and we will evaluate your complaint. Please ship assembled guns. If you insist on sending bag-o-parts, include a detailed inventory sheet. We am not responsible for Loctited parts, however if you know something has been Loctited or glued in place, please let us know so we can take appropriate measures during disassembly

PRIVACY

You must provide certain information so that we can process your order. Name, address, phone, etc. We use this information only to fill your order or to contact you. We will not disclose this information to other individuals or organizations unless required by law. We will not distribute your information to be used in mailing lists, surveys, or any other purpose. We will assist legitimate law enforcement inquiries, even when not compelled by law.

NIGHT SIGHTS

We remove night sights, if possible, before processing. Late model factory Glock staked front sights cannot be removed without destroying them. Add $40 for replacing factory Glock staked front night sights. PT/Innovative Weaponry/MMC night sights fail frequently and if they cannot be removed, they may be destroyed in processing. Trijicon and Meprolite sights that cannot be removed fail about 2% of the time at the 300 degree curing temperature.
