ARS has earned a national reputation for fine work on Heckler & Koch firearms. From simple refinishing on full and semiauto rifles, to complete builds and custom USC and SL8 rifles, ARS can satisfy the most demanding requirements. ARS is the authorized refinishing center for the HK USA repair department and has over 15 years of experience restoring HK pistols, shotguns, rifles, and machineguns.

HK91k Conversion.

The HK91k Conversion shortens the barrel to 16" overall length, including the flash suppressor. This is a less-expensive way to obtain the look of a G3k without having to register the gun as a short-barreled rifle. Using our special fixtures and tooling, we can shorten and thread the barrel without removing it from the receiver. The HK standard thread is M15x1.0 RH. We will touch-up the finish if necessary with black METACOL III on the barrel, and dark gray phosphate on the flash suppressor, as on the original. We can color-match black guns only, not the earlier blue-gray SACO imports.

We cannot shorten an HK 93 with the original style flash hider unless you register it with BATFE as a Short Barreled Rifle - $200 tax stamp, BATFE Form 5320.1 (Form 1). At the point it has to be cut and threaded, the tapered barrel is less than the minimum 15mm. We can do it with a longer flash suppressor of the G36 style.

JLD Enterprises "PTR 91" rifles can be shortened to 16" as the barrel is not tapered.

Clip & Pin Trigger Mechanism Housing and Grip Frame

ARS can modify your original trigger mechanism to semiauto only. We can also "clip & pin" your original grip frame. We machine out a clearance for the semiauto receiver shelf and install the ends of the swing-down pin to give the appearance of a select fire unit while still fitting on a semiauto only rifle. ARS HK USC and SL8-1 Modifications

Turn your gray USC, or SL8 into a more military black . Using the ARS proprietary PLASTICOL (PLASTIc COLor) industrial dying process with anionic and nonionic surfactants, ARS will recolor your plastic. The dying process will cause some darkening of the red and white pictogram markings. Our coloring process includes complete disassembly and reassembly. ARS will also machine the ventilation grooves like those found on the UMP and G36 and shorten and/or recontour your SL8 barrel.

HK Style Rifle Builds

ARS will assemble and refinish METACOL III Satin Black over Parkerizong your G3 parts kit on an FMP (Portugal), Springfield (Greek), JLD (PTR-91) or HK receiver. We will not work on Hesse (Vulcan), Speshul Wepunz, or FAC (FA-91) receivers. Price is $700 on your supplied parts kit, receiver, and 7 US parts. Add $100 to install your supplied paddle mag catch assembly (POR for us to supply). Return ship w/ $1000 insurance is $30.
